Students Achievement
The academic performance of the students of all departments of this college has all along been excellent. Every year nearly 50% students opt for post-graduate studies on the basis of their performance in the University exam under graduate level. Initially, the students used to pursue their higher studies (M.Sc. or B.Tech) mainly in Calcutta University. But during the last decade, students have started opting for other nationally and internationally institutes of repute, within and outside the state of West Bengal. During the last 10 years, approximately 60-70 students have been selected to prestigious academic and research institutes through national level competitive examinations. The institutes include Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Jawaharlal Nehru Center for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, S.N. Bose Center for Basic Science, Kolkata, Indian Association for Cultivation of Science, Kolkata, etc. They have made us proud by their sincerity and devotion towards the subject and many of them are presently engaged in Doctoral research in Indian and Foreign Universities and Institutes and are contributing significantly as a member of the scientific community. Many of our students are now working as a faculty member or Scientist in different academic and research institutes in India and abroad. A significant number of students are now serving in industries in responsible position. Their achievements as a professional have made us proud.
